Salary: CCC3: $7,275.46 to $8,067.13 biweekly ($189,889 – $210,552 per year)

Overview The Ministry of Alberta Justice ensures safe, resilient communities and a fair justice system. The role supports the Court of King’s Bench, Court of Justice, and Court of Appeal as legal advisors on privacy, access, and information governance.

Role Responsibilities

Provide legal advice to judiciary, court lawyers and staff on privacy, access and related legal matters.

Develop and implement legal information policies for all three courts’ judgments and records.

Oversee implementation, maintenance and adherence to legal information policies.

Champion excellence in legal information policy and information governance, improving operational effectiveness and public access.

Report to the Chief Justices of Alberta, King’s Bench and Court of Justice, addressing needs of three independent judicial bodies.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) Degree.

Minimum 11 years post-bar legal experience (Civil Crown Counsel 3).

Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta or eligibility for membership.

Deep expertise in information law and governance.

Knowledge of privacy and access legislation (Protection of Privacy Act, Access to Information Act, PIPEDA, etc.).

Understanding of emerging privacy law applications and court technologies.

Hours of Work 36.25 hours per week.

Term of Employment Permanent full‑time position.

Location Edmonton
