We are currently seeking a creative and passionate Chef to provide an exceptional culinary experience for our residents. This is a permanent part-time position, 26 hours per week: 2 days per week in the kitchen from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 2 days in production from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., as well as weekends.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assemble plates of food

Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food

Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards

Peel and cut vegetables for meals

Perform other related duties

Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards

Supervise the preparation of cold meals and desserts

Use products and equipment according to the safety, quality, hygiene and cleanliness rules and standards in effect

When appropriate, collaborate with the chef in the creation of the menus by proposing ideas

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent

Training certification (MAPAQ)

Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset

A minimum of 2 to 4 years experience

Experience in a large restoration's volume (an asset)

Good team player
