What you’ll do We're hiring an Engineering Manager to work on Link’s consumer products — foundational parts of how Link evolves from a one-click checkout into a broader consumer financial experience. Millions of consumers already use Stripe every year; this gives us a massive opportunity to accelerate the evolution of online commerce by making their experience the best it can be.

Responsibilities

Oversee Link’s web app or mobile apps

Iterate towards product-market fit, building a variety of products both adjacent to and distinct from the point of checkout

Base your decision‑making on a thorough understanding of consumer behavior and research

Build products that cater to both consumers and the merchants integrating Link into their own applications

Enable the team to work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end

Lead and manage processes to help the team do its best work and engage effectively with the rest of Stripe

Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as product, design, data science, operations, partnerships, and marketing

Recruit great engineers, in collaboration with Stripe’s recruiting team

Develop engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers

Minimum requirements

At least 5 years of experience managing teams that shipped high‑quality products

An entrepreneurial mindset

Successfully recruited and built great teams

Works effectively cross‑functionally and is able to think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make or coordinate hard decisions and trade‑offs

Strong written and verbal communication skills for different audiences (leadership, users, company‑wide)

Thrives with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment

Technical acumen to drive clarity about architecture and technical strategic decisions

Digs deep into the data, think from first principles, and deliver the right results

Encourages a healthy and inclusive work environment that’s both challenging and supportive

Preferred qualifications

Experience with financial product companies and interest in financial products and markets

Productively lead fully remote teams

Experience managing mobile teams, shipping both production apps and SDKs

Office‑assigned Stripes Office‑assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in‑office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in‑office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in‑person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

Salary & benefits The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is CA$213,600 - CA$320,400. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
