How you’ll make an impact

As a Database Administrator (DBA), you’ll support, maintain and modernize our enterprise Oracle database environment - ensuring the performance, availability, security and reliability of critical database systems while working closely with application teams, architects and operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a for a DBA who enjoys hands-on technical work, problem-solving and contributing to modernization initiatives in a collaborative, Agile environment. If you have a passion for keeping mission-critical platforms available, performant and recoverable, this could be the role for you.

What you’ll do Perform diagnostics, testing and troubleshooting of database and operating system issues to ensure stable and reliable database services Monitor database environments, act on system alerts and respond to performance, availability and stability issues in a timely manner Execute database migrations, patching, upgrades, backups and recovery, reoganizations, and data movement activities Manage and resolve business-as-usual service requests, incidents and operational tickets through established ITIL processes Identify, analyze and remediate database performance and availability issues Support database-related deployment and change activities, ensuring controlled, reliable releases into production environments Participate in on-call rotation and provide support outside of regular working hours when DBA expertise is required

What you’ll bring to the team Required qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or information technology Minimum five years of experience in database administration (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) Minimum five years of Oracle Database Support & Postgres Administration experience Minimum fiveyears of AWS RDS experience (including Aurora, option groups and parameter groups) Experience with ITIL processes - incident, change and service request management procedures

Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of performance monitoring, disaster recovery, failover, high availability, archive/transaction log management, AWS DMS, auditing and backup solutions SQL Server experience Ability to configure SSL encryption, AWS IAM authentication and cost optimization Experience with Redshift and Oracle Enterprise Advanced SQL knowledge is an asset, but this role is focused on administration
