About the Opportunity Under the supervision of the Manager, Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Technologist supports medical technology by repairing, maintaining, and calibrating life‑support and other medical devices, maintaining medical computers and networks, and assisting in the training of physicians, nurses, therapists, and other technical staff. They also perform safety performance and routine inspections on electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment and systems.

About You

Successful completion of a two‑year accredited diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology.

Must be registered or eligible to be registered with TechNova as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) within two (2) years of hire.

Must have reliable transportation; travel to multiple sites within the central zone is required.

Working knowledge and training of electronics with the ability to repair, calibrate, and perform safety and performance inspections on electronic, electrical, mechanical, and optical equipment, devices, systems, and instruments.

Specialized training in advanced biomedical equipment such as Anesthesia and Respiratory is an asset.

Training on various OR technology and laboratory equipment is an asset.

Knowledge of networking medical devices is an asset.

Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an asset.

Certification as a Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET(C)) with the Canadian Board of Examiners for Biomedical Engineering and Dialysis Technologists and Technicians is an asset.

Competency in other languages is an asset; French preferred.

Hours

Long Assignment, Full‑time position; 75 hours bi‑weekly.

Approximately 19 months in length.

Compensation and Benefits $36.63 - $47.16 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $10,000 annually. Eligibility for a Market Adjustment is reviewed periodically.
