In this role, you will:
Exadata Administration Roles & Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain Exadata Database Machine (hardware and software)
Performance Tuning: Optimize SQL, manage storage, and tune system performance
Patching and Upgrades: Apply quarterly Full Stack Download Patch (FSDP) and Infrastructure patches
Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor cell servers, compute nodes, and InfiniBand/RoCE switches, ensuring high availability
ZFS Storage Appliance Administration
Storage Management: Configure, manage, and optimize ZFS storage pools, projects, and shares
Data Protection: Implement snapshots, replication, and data integrity checks
Performance Tuning: Monitor and tune storage throughput and latency
Snapshots & Replication: Managing point‑in‑time snapshots and replicating data to secondary sites for Disaster Recovery (DR)
ZDLRA (Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance) Admin
Backup Management: Configure and maintain ZDLRA systems to ensure continuous data protection
Recovery Operations: Perform rapid, validated recovery of databases
Onboarding: Onboard databases to ZDLRA, automating backup policies
Real‑Time Redo Transport: Configure databases to send redo logs to the ZDLRA instantly, ensuring zero data loss even if the production site fails
Oracle Key Vault
Oracle Key Vault administrators are responsible for securing, managing, and auditing encryption keys, wallets, and credentials across enterprise databases
User Management: Creating and managing user accounts and roles
Endpoint Management: Adding, configuring, and managing endpoints (databases, application servers)
System Configuration: Configuring network, SNMP, SMTP (alerts), and enabling/disabling FIPS mode
Cluster Management: Setting up, monitoring, and managing OKV clusters (replication, node addition/removal)
Maintenance: Backing up and restoring OKV, patching, and starting/stopping services
Security Integration: Configuring hardware security modules (HSM)
Core Responsibilities Across Platforms
Security: Implement role‑based access, encryption, and compliance checks, Oracle key Vault
Troubleshooting: Resolve critical incidents related to performance, storage, or availability
Scripting & Automation: Automate tasks using shell scripting, Python, or Ansible
Documentation: Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and disaster recovery plans
Grid Infrastructure & RAC: Installing, configuring, and patching Oracle Clusterware and ASM
Storage Management: Managing Cell Nodes and Grid Disks
Performance Tuning: Monitoring I/O resource management (IORM) to ensure one database doesn't "hog" the storage from others
Networking: Configuring InfiniBand or RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) fabrics for ultra‑low latency
Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor cell servers, compute nodes, and InfiniBand/RoCE switches, ensuring high availability
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
Possess strong expertise in Linux demonstrating the ability to optimize and manage systems effectively
Have extensive experience with Exadata DMA showcasing proficiency in database management and optimization
Proven track record of 8 or more years in infrastructure architecture with a dedicated focus on Linux, Oracle, and Exadata DMA
Excellent experience with ZDLRA and ZFS
Display excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on improving infrastructure efficiency
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment
Show a commitment to staying updated with industry trends and best practices
Compensation: We are offering an annual salary of $94,000-110,000.
