Our client, a well-established boutique litigation firm is looking to grow its Toronto office. They are looking for a Commercial Litigation Associate: with 5 to 10+ years experience (more experience is welcome!).

This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Litigation Associate, to join a dynamic firm and further grow their practice in a professional, collegial and collaborative firm environment.

Responsibilities:

Providing candid, strategic advice to a diverse range of clients.

Acting for individuals and businesses in a variety of areas, including contractual disputes, construction, real estate litigation, mortgage enforcement, commercial leasing, shareholder and partnership disputes, insurance and employment.

Appearing in court to argue motions or other adjudicative hearings.

Appearing before the Superior Court of Justice and successfully representing clients on contested motions and at trial.

Conducting legal research and providing analysis;

Working on all aspects of a case.

Drafting legal documents.

Requirements: You are the ideal candidate if you have/are:

5 to 10+ years’ experience (more experience welcome).

A member in good standing with LSO.

Knowledge in real‑estate property disputes, employment law, shareholder claims, professional negligence claims, insurance law, construction liens, and contract disputes;

Experience in attending Examinations for Discovery, Mediations, cross‑exams, summary judgement motions, conducting settlement negotiations, and other litigation events;

Solution and client-service-oriented.

An ability to work independently with clients.

Experience in drafting legal documents

Reviewing legal and factual issues, and advising clients accordingly;

A book or partial book of business is an asset.
