Are you ready to take your IT audit expertise to the next level? EY is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager in Calgary Technology Assurance, where you’ll enhance trust in our clients’ information systems and grow EY’s footprint in the market. This job posting does not relate to an existing vacancy; however we welcome applications on a continuing basis. Your key responsibilities

The candidate will participate in both internal and external audit services. This includes, but is not limited to: Business development

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the technology risk domain. Develop and execute strategies to expand the client base, increase market share and achieve revenue targets. Collaborate with other EY service lines to cross-sell and deliver integrated solutions to clients. Contribute to the development and execution of the go-to-market strategy for the Technology Risk group. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to inform service offerings and market positioning. Represent EY at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance the firm’s visibility and reputation and grow EY’s footprint in the market. Build a robust pipeline of prospective clients and strengthen relationships with current and potential clients. Work with teams and networks to generate new business opportunities. Participate in high-visibility industry initiatives and forums to showcase EY’s service and product capabilities. Lead business development initiatives including service offering development, proposal development, responding to RFPs, presentations, negotiations, and engagement planning. Collaborate with the local market leader to grow Technology Risk market shares and enhance EY’s presence in key sectors and accounts. Build strong internal relationships within the national and global Technology Risk practice and across EY’s service lines including Advisory, Tax and Transactions. Client management

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understand their business needs, and provide tailored risk management solutions. Act as the primary client contact, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and addressing issues promptly. Lead client engagements, including planning, execution, and delivery of technology risk services. Leadership and team development

Lead and provide support to teams of managers, senior consultants and consultants, including delivering IT Audit-related trainings. Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Lead and support partners in practice management aspects. Execution and delivery excellence

External audits: oversee engagements to test and opine on the efficacy of IT general controls and IT application controls for financial statement audits and integrated audits. Internal audits/SOX: assist clients in designing and implementing ITGCs and ITACs to support SOX compliance; oversee testing to confirm efficacy of controls. Service organization reporting: focus on 3416, SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports. Provide high-quality day-to-day management of internal/external audit engagements. Lead and support on-site coordination for audit clients, including planning, briefing teams on client IT environment and trends, and client communication. Prepare IT external audit reports on the adequacy and effectiveness of control structures, with practical recommendations for improvement. Discuss and resolve audit issues and recommendations with client management. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex information systems and apply it to client situations. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices and EY methodologies, policies and quality standards. Skills and attributes for success

Extensive experience in technology risk management with a track record of successful business development and market development. Strong understanding of technology risk, cybersecurity and regulatory requirements. Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills; a collaborative team player. Demonstrated integrity and strong work ethic. Strong client interaction skills with leadership and partner-level communication. To qualify for the role you must have

Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT external and/or internal audit. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Science, MIS, or related field. Relevant audit and/or accounting designation(s) such as CISA, CPA, CIA, etc. Ideally, you’ll also have

Knowledge of COBIT, ITIL or other IT frameworks and service organization reporting standards is a plus. Knowledge of platforms like SAP, Oracle, Windows, etc. is a plus. Hands-on experience with project management or IT operations in large ERP systems or information security. What we look for
