We’re looking for a

Senior Software Engineer (E3)

who’s passionate about solving complex problems with elegant, high-quality code. You’ll collaborate across design, data, and product to create features that simplify how small businesses pay, recognize, and retain their teams.

You’ll be part of a high-velocity, AI-first environment where ideas move fast and impact is measurable — bringing both craft and curiosity to everything you build.

These are the key ways you’ll contribute and create impact in this role:

Design, build, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails services that power payroll, pay access, and employee-facing experiences.

Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver fintech and AI-driven features that improve day-to-day life for small business teams.

Experiment with AI and automation to enhance performance, personalization, and operational efficiency.

Support continuous delivery and observability for production systems that serve millions of hourly workers.

Contribute to Homebase’s engineering culture — mentoring, sharing knowledge, and helping us ship faster with quality.

The Foundation for Success -

These are the experiences and strengths that will set you up for success in this role:

3–5 years of professional software engineering experience .

Required:

Strong proficiency in

Ruby on Rails , RESTful APIs, and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).

Preferred:

Experience in

FinTech, payroll, or payments

systems.

Familiarity with

AI tools, APIs, or frameworks

(OpenAI, LangChain, or similar).
