Senior Structural Engineer

Expanding our presence in Canada, Sener seeks talented professionals to join our Toronto team. The role focuses on rail transit infrastructure projects (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars).
Responsibilities
Assist clients in conceptual design definition, technical feasibility and constructability.
Lead a structural team through the design process.
Ensure coordination with other disciplines, requesting inputs and providing results in a timely manner.
Present alternatives and designs to contractors and clients.
Review technical documentation and identify critical defects.
Guide modelers for BIM modeling and drawing production.
Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction compliance with design intent and codes.
Develop structural details and construction plans.
Review shop drawings and field services in design and construction.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
Registered P.E. in Ontario is mandatory.
Registered OIQ in Quebec is an asset.
Minimum 8‑15 years of relevant experience in structural design and rail & transit projects.
Experience with complex construction projects involving P3, infrastructure, and/or underground LRT and subway.
Expertise in reinforced concrete structures.
Desirable knowledge of pre‑stressed concrete and precast construction.
Desirable knowledge of steel structures.
Desirable knowledge of underground structures, geostructures (support of excavation, walls, invert slabs, cut‑and‑cover structures).
Technical competency in the design of structural building systems.
Knowledge and understanding of structural design software such as SAP2000 and Robot Structural Analysis.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Navisworks, Bluebeam desirable.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant design standards and codes.
Project management and coordination skills with strong leadership and motivation for project structural teams.
Ability to confidently interact with all levels of staff and clientele – internal and external.
Effective communication in English (Spanish and/or French an asset).
