private school principal Location:

Selwyn, ON K9J 6X5

Employment:

Full time, Day, 36 hours per week, Starts as soon as possible

Salary:

$60,000 to $90,000 annually (to be negotiated)

Responsibilities

Evaluate teachers and support staff

Evaluate teaching methods and quality of instruction

Oversee the activities of teachers and support staff

Revise programs based on academic performance levels

Recruit and hire teachers and other staff

Teach

Direct or supervise the recruitment, training, evaluation and promotion of teachers

Evaluate the scope and sequence of the curriculum

Make recommendations concerning the annual operating budget of a school district

Co‑ordinate teaching activities

Organize and maintain procedures for record‑keeping

Review programs to ensure conformance to school board or provincial standards

Provide ongoing professional development, training and consultative services to teachers

Evaluate curriculum programs and recommend improvements

Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents

Plan and organize academic and related activities of the school

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

3 to less than 5 years of experience in elementary education leadership

Experience with curriculum evaluation and staff development

Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills

Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment

Additional Requirements

Budgetary responsibility: $500,001 - $1,500,000

Supervision of 5-10 people

Security checks: criminal record check, child abuse registry check, basic security clearance

Work setting: Urban area

Employment terms: Full time, Day, 36 hours per week
