Geophysicist

Join a dynamic team in the energy sector as a Contract Geophysicist, where you'll play a crucial role in optimizing reservoir development plans and supporting long-term strategies.

Role Overview

Collaborate with asset geologists, reservoir engineers, and the earthworks team to plan an annual strat well program for reservoir delineation.

Ensure quality control for seismic data processing, utilizing appropriate parameters.

Interpret and generate depth-converted seismic surfaces for well planning, placement, and real‑time drilling.

Plan 2D and 3D seismic programs with geologists, geophysicists, engineers, and regulatory teams to minimize reservoir risk and enhance production.

Provide geophysical input for geomodels, regulatory submissions, and resource management reports, including documentation and presentations for technical reviews.

Support workflow optimization projects to enhance geoscience and reservoir engineering processes.

Skills & Qualifications

Well Planning: Expertise in planning and executing well programs.

Clastic Deposits: Strong understanding of clastic depositional systems.

Seismic Interpretation: Proficiency in 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and visualization.

Seismic Attribute Analysis: Skilled in analyzing seismic attributes.

Software Proficiency: Experience with Hampson‑Russell, Jason, SeisWare; expertise in Petrel preferred.

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Geophysics.

Registered P. Geo in good standing with APEGA or other Provincial Professional Geoscience Organization.

Minimum 8 years of related industry experience.
