Lead the design and development of backend systems, APIs, and integrations that support critical product capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of frontend engineers, SREs, and QA specialists within dedicated product-focused development squads. Contribute to the full lifecycle of software development, from architecture discussions and design to implementation, testing, and deployment. Build scalable and maintainable services using modern backend frameworks and database technologies. Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code standards and sharing constructive feedback with team members. Troubleshoot and resolve technical and business-related issues to ensure system reliability and performance. Support platform improvements by researching, proposing, and implementing architectural enhancements. Contribute to engineering initiatives such as hiring processes, technical discussions, documentation, and internal knowledge sharing. Mentor junior engineers and help foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and technical excellence. Qualifications

Significant professional experience as a

Senior Backend Engineer , including delivering and maintaining complex software systems in production environments. Strong experience with relational databases such as

PostgreSQL

or similar technologies. Experience implementing

CI/CD pipelines

using tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or comparable solutions. Solid understanding of backend architecture, API design, scalability, and performance optimization. Ability to collaborate effectively in distributed teams and contribute to asynchronous workflows. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems. Nice to have: experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell. Familiarity with modern cloud and container technologies such as

AWS ,

Docker , and
