Sr. Engineer, Pipeline Integrity Management

Overview
A key owner‑side client is seeking a
Senior Pipeline Integrity Engineer
to support their Integrity Management program. The role focuses on technical assessments, fitness‑for‑service evaluations, integrity threat reviews, and supporting pipeline projects across multiple operating areas. The position works closely with operations, project teams, regulatory bodies, and integrity vendors.
Responsibilities
Conduct engineering assessments for pipeline status changes (reactivations, flow reversals, pressure changes) and manage changes through MOC processes.
Apply and oversee pipeline class location standards.
Develop annual integrity budgets and long‑range plans with the pipeline assessment team.
Lead integrity review meetings with Operations, including corrosion, risk, and program reviews.
Prepare and deliver integrity presentations and technical summaries.
Perform fitness‑for‑service assessments, including ILI data review, technology selection, historical dig analysis, cathodic protection performance, and internal corrosion programs.
Review and manage third‑party crossing requests and assess impacts to pipeline integrity.
Maintain accurate integrity program records and performance metrics.
Collaborate with internal integrity teams, operations, and external vendors/consultants.
Support supply chain processes for integrity services, including scope development and deliverable review.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
Professional engineering degree or relevant technologist certification.
7–15 years of pipeline integrity experience.
Strong competency in integrity threat assessment, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
Advanced knowledge of ILI technologies and analysis (MFL, geometry, IMU, ultrasonic).
Experience assessing and repairing corrosion, cracking, and deformation threats.
Familiarity with pipeline lifecycle: design, operations, maintenance, abandonment.
Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. codes, standards, and regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to solve complex technical problems and balance engineering and business needs.
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Self‑directed, able to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
Willingness to travel to pipeline asset locations (approx. 10%).
