Our client is a successful private software company located in Markham, seeking to hire a Director of Software Development for a full time hybrid position. About the Opportunity

This role will manage Software/Product application development for commercial software product Total team of 25+ with 3-4 Managers/Leads The focus of the role will be on development of the commercial software product, with overseeing other areas (internal corporate IT). About You

10+ years of progressive software development positions culminating in 5+ years of dev leadership (15+ people), preferably in Fintech/startup Experience with Java/J2EE and AWS dev stack Experience managing full stack development teams/scrums delivering custom developed software (desktop/mobile/web/cloud) - full HR management Experience with all of SDLC (agile and waterfall) including QA, CI/CD/devops, deployment, integration, hosting, security, MQ, etc. Experience with Innovation, new tech coming out (e.g. Agentic AI coding/etc.); modernization of old technology Strong experience in technical leadership (design/architecture, code reviews, technical decisions, etc.) Very good English communication Ability to commute to Markham office 4 days per week Bonus Items
