We are seeking aSenior Electrical Distribution Engineerwho is ready to take on complex technical challenges and play a key role in a rapidly growing electrical distribution team. This position supports overhead and underground utility infrastructure projects across Ontario and is ideal for an experienced professional looking to combine deep technicalexpertisewith leadership and mentorshipandwho’dlike to advance their career towards Project Management.You will be based in eitherour Mississauga or Kitchener, ON officesin a hybrid model (2 days /week in the office).
You will work on a wide range of electrical distribution infrastructure including poles, wires, duct banks,transformers,vaults,HVcables, andotherhydro assets, ensuring designs meet client standards, engineering best practices, and safety requirements.
WhatYou’llDo:
Oversee and lead engineering activities related to the design of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems up to 44 kV.
Reviewand approveconstruction drawings, calculations, bills of materials, and work packages
Support projectmanagementfrom service requests through to delivery — on time, on budget, and to quality standards
Resolve complex design and field issues using sound engineering judgment
Work closely with utilities, municipalities, clients, and contractors to define scope and technical requirements
Maintain high client satisfaction by fostering long-term client relationships and ensuring the best possible project outcomes
Mentor junior engineers and designers and contribute to internal standards and best practices
Propose innovative improvements to processes, procedures, and design approaches
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
12+ years of experience in electrical engineering with strong focus on utility distribution systems
Proven experience with overhead and underground systems ≤44kV
Knowledge of Ontario utility standards, CSA C22 series, ON Reg 22/04, and major utility client standards (e.g.,Toronto Hydro, Alectra,Enwin,Hydro One, USFetc)
Experience with tools such asSPIDAcalc, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and GIS systems
Strong communicationskills and ability to work with multidisciplinary and remote teams
Valid Ontario driver’s licence and ability to attend site visits
