The Financial and Consumer Services Commission (FCNB) is a leader in integrated financial and consumer services regulation.
The Commission’s mandate is to protect consumers and enhance public confidence in the financial and consumer marketplace through the provision of regulatory and educational services.
With offices in both Fredericton and Saint John, it is responsible for the administration and enforcement of provincial legislation regulating mortgage brokers, payday lenders, real estate, securities, insurance, pensions, credit unions, trust and loan companies, cooperatives, unclaimed property, and a wide range of consumer legislation.
The Commission is a self‑funded Crown corporation responsible for the administration and enforcement of financial consumer services legislation.

Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Operations & Support
Configure and maintain security controls across Microsoft 365/Entra ID, endpoint protection, email security, and network services, with supporting documentation.
Monitor, investigate, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities, triaging SIEM/XDR alerts, threat intelligence, and vendor advisories, and coordinating containment, recovery, and post‑incident learnings.
Support secure design, vendor due diligence, and ongoing security reviews for new and existing systems and services.
Promote security awareness by communicating emerging threats and safe‑computing guidance and supporting training materials.
Secure Design & Reviews
Participate in security assessments for new software/hardware/cloud services; perform vendor due diligence and recurring security reviews for existing vendors.
Systems Administration
Monitor and maintain system configuration/hardening, patching cadence, automation, and upgrades across servers, endpoints, and cloud workloads.
Ensure system accuracy and reliability by managing backups, testing restores and maintaining RPO/RTO objectives.
Administer Windows Server, virtualization (Hyper‑V/VMware), storage, networking (DNS/DHCP/NTP), and Microsoft 365 tenant feature enablement.
Troubleshoot system outages and performance issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain system documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.
Coordinate with IT vendors and service providers for escalations, changes, and service or security reviews.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; equivalent combination of experience and certifications considered.
Minimum 4 years information technology experience, including at least 1 year of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity operations and at least 2 years of systems administration within cloud environments.
Hands‑on experience in day‑to‑day cybersecurity operations, including identity and access controls, endpoint and email protection, and security monitoring and alerting.
Knowledge of Windows Server administration, including Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy.
Experience or working knowledge of vulnerability management, patching, backup and restoration practices.
Knowledge of network fundamentals, including routing, firewalls, VPNs and basic network security concepts such as logging and certificate‑based authentication.
Familiarity with NIST CSF / CIS Controls and practical compliance operations.
Strong analytical problem solving; structured incident handling skills.

Salary: $62,410 to $85,815 annually
