Job Description

Location 243 Consumers Road, Toronto, Ontario, M2J 4W8 400 av Sainte-Croix, Saint-Laurent, Quebec, H4N 3L4. The role is hybrid and requires 4 days in the office at either location.

Why this role is important In this role, you will be accountable for objectively managing pharmacy‑related incidents within pharmacy operations across Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaw, and Pharmaprix. Using a structured methodology, you will identify root causes, recommend and implement appropriate countermeasures, and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure successful resolution. The Senior Manager will also play a critical role in developing and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives across the pharmacy network.

Responsibilities

Investigation & Resolution:

Demonstrates the ability to identify and apply the most appropriate tools and resources based on the nature of the situation or incident.

Provides clear, professional, and empathetic responses to customers and stakeholders, using accessible, non‑technical language.

Builds rapport and trust with stakeholders through phone and in‑person interactions, showing empathy, patience, compassion, and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Effectively manages multiple open incidents by prioritizing tasks, ensuring timely follow‑up, and driving issues toward resolution.

Participates in the incident management and drug recall processes, remaining available on call as required, from initiation through to completion.

Supports enterprise pharmacy operations by contributing to specific programs, compliance initiatives, and the implementation of operational procedures.

Analytics & Improvement:

Leverages database systems to build reports, retrieve information, and organize data for meaningful analysis.

Analyzes large datasets to identify trends, root causes, and key insights.

Utilizes advanced Excel functions and/or statistical software to support data‑driven decision making.

Translates complex analysis into clear, concise, and actionable presentations for stakeholders.

Supports the identification and execution of improvement initiatives across the business.

Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Clinical Support:

Provides clinical expertise to support the successful implementation of pharmacy programs.

Prioritizes patient safety and best practices while contributing to the development of long‑term enterprise‑wide standards.

Qualifications

Proficiency in both English and French is considered an asset.

Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP), Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec (OPQ), or another Canadian pharmacy regulatory body.

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pharmacist.

Authentic and collaborative team player with strong clinical communication skills, able to engage empathetically, confidentially, and professionally with diverse stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams with direct reporting relationships, aligning with Blue Culture principles.

Knowledge of the health benefits industry, including drug plan management, is considered an asset.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate insights into action.

Professional presence with excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization abilities.

Ability to deliver results in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment while meeting challenging deadlines.

Effective communicator, capable of influencing and presenting ideas to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Quick learner with the ability to assimilate new concepts rapidly and a demonstrated openness to continuous learning.

Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Experience managing pharmacy or medication incidents, or related experience, is an asset.

Hiring Range $120,000.00 - $154,000.00 per year.
