Position Summary
We are seeking 2 dynamic Financial Business Partners to join our team. This role involves advising senior management and overseeing specific department and branch portfolios. The successful candidate will provide strategic support in budget development, accounting, financial modeling, and financial management reporting. Key responsibilities include developing and managing financial models, preparing consistent financial reports, and overseeing variance and capital carry forward processes.
As a Financial Business Partner, you will lead work units that serve as the liaison between operating departments and corporate financial systems. Your tasks will include entering data into corporate financial systems, organizing financial and statistical information, and conducting financial analysis and reporting for client departments. This position also involves providing senior financial advisory support to client Directors and Executive Directors, helping them achieve their departmental and divisional goals through effective financial management. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Provide financial analysis, planning support, and advice on accounting policies, taxation, and internal controls
Support strategic and business planning, including service changes, staffing impacts, and financial sustainability
Lead financial modelling, reserve management, and long-range financial impact analysis
Support capital accounting, monitoring, and operating and capital budget business cases
Conduct research and best-practice analysis to inform recommendations and policy decisions
Prepare regular and ad hoc financial reports to support decision-making
Provide costing support for collective bargaining proposals
Monitor external funding agreements and ensure compliance and accurate reporting
Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and budget support practices
Establish and support a consistent, centrally governed cost accounting methodology
Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Act as a strategic financial partner to operating areas and a liaison with Financial Services
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to resolve accounting and budget system issues
Participate in special studies, research, and assignments as required
Key Qualifications
Lead smaller work units that are the interface for budget and accounting services between operating departments and corporate financial and budget systems and processes.
Lead operating areas in financial model preparation and maintenance.
Provide day-to-day supervision with a focus on guidance, direction and development.
Responsible for providing input and recommendations on Branch/Unit specific workforce planning.
Leadership accountabilities include performance management in conjunction with the Branch Manager.
Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency and equity in leadership and development of staff within each of the teams.
Provide occasional on-the-job-training to others and build an environment of service excellence, best practices, and professionalism.
