Lead Mechanical Design Engineer (Special Purpose Machine)

Job Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end mechanical design of Special Purpose Machines independently, from customer meetings and requirement study to concept creation, proposal, execution, and support.

Prepare project proposals including concept explanation, machine working principle, cycle time estimation, risks, and assumptions.

Create 2D layout drawings for proposal stage and 3D concept models using SolidWorks for customer review and approval.

Prepare complete BOMs including manufacturing BOM, and bought-out parts list, and support costing and procurement.

Generate accurate 2D manufacturing drawings, sub-assembly drawings, and assembly drawings with tolerances and technical notes fabrication.

Possess strong hands-on knowledge of pneumatics, servo motors, actuators, linear motion systems, sensors, and automation components used in Special Purpose Machines.

Have proven experienced designing Special Purpose Machines for manufacturing environments, especially automotive MNC production and assembly lines.

Have experience with jigs, fixtures, assembly stations, testing machines, material handling systems, and special-purpose mechanisms.

Demonstrate strong understanding of shop-floor practices including machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
