Job Description
We are looking for a
Power System Engineer
with strong experience in
utility-scale electrical systems
to support projects focused on high-voltage protection studies, grid reliability, and utility network simulations. In this role, you will work on
simulation, protection system design, and technical documentation
for large-scale electrical utilities, including Microgrid and generation protection projects.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct
power system studies and simulations
using ASPEN, CAPE, and ETAP.
Design and model
protection and control systems
for substations, transmission, and distribution networks.
Configure and validate
GE and Omicron protection relays
used in utility networks.
Perform
fault analysis, protection coordination, load flow, and stability studies
for generation and high-voltage systems.
Support
grid integration and Microgrid interconnection projects .
Prepare
technical reports and documentation
for utilities and grid operators.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including utilities, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
4–5 years of experience
in electrical power system engineering within
utility environments
(generation, transmission, or distribution).
Strong knowledge of
substation protection, generation protection, and transmission system stability .
Hands-on experience with
ASPEN, CAPE, and ETAP .
Experience working with
GE and Omicron protection relays .
Understanding of
grid codes, utility regulations, and interconnection standards .
Ability to manage technical tasks independently and communicate effectively within project teams.
On site in Markham
Expected Compensation Range
50K-90K The final compensation offered will be
determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills, and qualifications , in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.
Canadian Experience Requirement
No Canadian work experience is required for this position. Candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of previous Canadian experience.
