Job Description

Project Manager and Senior Electrical Engineer To pursue project and client development in the Sept-Îles region, BBA wants to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. Working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the Sept-Îles region and in executing various projects in the mining and metals, and energy sectors. BBA's electrical engineering teams stand out among Côte-Nord clients because of their cutting‑edge technical expertise. This expertise is combined with an unrivalled commitment and understanding of the issues involved in operating and maintaining industrial power systems.

By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to assist our industrial clients in the energy and mining markets with their operations and their maintenance or growth projects. In more practical terms, you’ll be called upon to perform site surveys and tests on high- and medium‑voltage electrical equipment, as well as participate in the commissioning of new equipment and systems. You’ll also have the opportunity to help with various stages in project execution. You’ll be responsible for ensuring quality professional services and for maintaining strong client relationships.

Overview of certifications and job requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Member of the OIQ

At least 8 years of relevant experience in power systems and MV and HV equipment

Available to travel among our Mont‑Saint‑Hilaire, Sept‑Îles and Labrador City offices

Available for short‑term assignments outside our offices (mandatory) and long‑term assignments (an asset)

In‑depth knowledge of electrical installation safety

Thorough knowledge of MV and HV equipment and switchgear

Intermediate knowledge of test equipment

Intermediate knowledge of workplace safety (workers’ compensation) and field monitoring

Knowledge of power flow studies, short‑circuit studies, protection coordination and arc‑flash hazard analysis

Knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Outlook, MS Project, Excel)

Proficient with ETAP, EMTP‑RV, CYME and PSAF software

Advanced levels of French and English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects

Ability to draft technical documents in both English and French
