Job Description

Position Overview The Scenic Specialist I provide operation support in the warehouse, to prep/unpack of rental staging/scenic assets, or to aid in the fabrication of custom scenic and staging elements. On site execution of events requiring scenic and staging, in and around the base of operations. Reports to Scenic Services Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and dismantle sets/scenery and staging equipment at events as assigned.

Where required, to act as crew lead and supervise outside contractors for purposes of setup and dismantle of events.

Maintain scenic supplies in show tool kits as necessary for operational functions.

Complete full and accurate documentation of all work performed, as required.

Assist Management in maintaining accurate up-to-date inventories.

Setup, operate and dismantle audio visual equipment at event locations as needed.

Packing/unpacking of scenic & staging assets as assigned and other general warehouse duties.

Load and unload trucks, as needed.

Drive cube vans, panel vans and straight trucks, as needed.

Follow quality control standards and procedural guidelines.

Communicate equipment-related operations in person or over the phone

Work at a desk and in a warehouse setting, standing for periods over 30 minutes

Represent the Company in a professional manner.

Comply and maintain safety standards according to Encore regulations and safe working practices.

Follow and enforce company policies on show site safety and operations.

Follow company guidelines, with respect to diversity, equity and inclusion

Job Qualifications This section consists of skills and abilities for an employee to perform the job at a satisfactory level (education, experience, skills & abilities, certifications, languages etc….)

High School diploma plus 2 years college, technical trade school, or 3 years professional scene shop experience (preferred)

Knowledge of woodworking tools and scenic construction methods

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and renderings

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret work orders and other documents

Effective communication using email and Teams

Apply concepts of basic algebra and plane geometry

Use mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions

Conduct theoretical discussions on specific technical topics

Apply common sense understanding to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form

Deal with problems quickly and effectively

Work at a desk and in a warehouse setting, standing for periods over 30 minutes

Lift objects over 50 pounds above head

Use material handling equipment and dangerous woodworking tools

Use hands to handle objects, manipulate tools, or controls

Hourly Pay Range: $22.04 - $28.65

The compensation offered for this role is determined based on the qualifications outlined in the job posting for the specified location. Final compensation is based on a number of factors including location, travel, relevant work experience, or particular skills and expertise. Work Environment Fabrication

Work is performed in a shop environment. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in a warehouse environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area. When in the Fabrication Department, work will be completed in a temperature-controlled environment with exposure to dirt, sand, dust, and chemicals. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
