Job Description Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, the Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive financial planning and analysis across Seaspan’s three shipyards. The SFA supports strategic decision‑making through budgeting, rolling forecasts, long‑term planning, scenario analysis, business cases, and executive reporting.

This role requires a strong understanding of integrated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) to analyze performance, forecast cash flows, and assess business impacts. The SFA partners closely with stakeholders across all three shipyards to consolidate and interpret complex financial data, provide actionable insights, and serve as a key contributor to ERP implementation projects and as a subject matter expert for FP&A processes and systems post go‑live. Continuous process improvement and system optimization are central to this role.

Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employees will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

What You’ll Do

Act as a trusted finance business partner to cross‑functional leaders, influencing decisions and supporting strategic objectives

Partner with the NSS Program Finance team to oversee forecasts, budgets, and program financial models

Lead the preparation and delivery of business reviews, management reporting, and executive‑level presentations, translating financial performance into actionable insights

Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling, scenario analysis, investment evaluation, and long‑term planning

Maintain and enhance cash flow and balance sheet projections to provide insights on liquidity, working capital, and capital structure

Collaborate with Controllership and other finance areas to ensure timely and accurate close, consolidation, and executive reporting integrity

Serve as a key FP&A subject matter expert in EPBCS/Oracle EPM design, implementation, and post go‑live support

Strengthen FP&A continuity by fostering shared expertise, collaborative workflows, and knowledge transfer

Drive process improvement by standardizing, automating, and optimizing forecasting and reporting processes, identifying efficiencies and innovative approaches

Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as required

What You’ll Bring

Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) strongly preferred

Strong working knowledge of integrated financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow), including cash flow forecasting and working capital planning

Minimum 5 years of progressive FP&A experience in a large, complex organization, including executive‑level business partnering and strategic decision support

Demonstrated expertise in long‑term forecasting, multi‑year financial modeling, and scenario analysis

Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong working knowledge of other MS Office tools (Word, Outlook, Teams)

Proven ability to operate in complex, multi‑module ERP environment; hands‑on experience supporting or leading ERP implementations or system transformations is a strong asset

Experience with FP&A and performance management systems, such as Oracle EPM (e.g., Oracle Planning [EPBCS], FCCS) or equivalent financial planning and consolidation tools, is an asset

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information clearly, confidently, and professionally

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with sound business judgment and strong attention to detail

Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, changing environments and manage multiple priorities

Proactive, customer‑focused self‑starter who works effectively both independently and collaboratively

Demonstrated ability to influence and build strong cross‑functional relationships

Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of follow‑through and delivery

The estimated salary for this position is $112,500 - $137,500. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors, including the successful candidate’s skill set and experience, the position’s location, and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
