Responsibilities
Plays an active role in the due diligence process and contributes to the preparation of credit committee presentations.
Assists with the credit application process, write-up of internal memos, and drafting of commitment letters.
Prepare internal memorandums regarding all transaction amendments when required on existing loans.
Complete and analyze due diligence searches and discuss results with the team.
Assist with ongoing portfolio management as required (portfolio analysis, loan tracking, liaising with borrowers), including detailed financial monitoring and making appropriate recommendations.
Assist in the development of business opportunities, attend prospect meetings, and actively build a network of potential referral sources.
Work collaboratively with other members of the Private Debt team and support junior staff in their professional development.
Maintain current knowledge of the commercial lending environment through ongoing research and participation in networking events.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in business or finance.
Five to eight years of related experience in the Canadian debt market with a strong background in credit assessment, transaction structuring and documentation.
Strategic and entrepreneurial vision with creative problemโsolving abilities.
Attention to detail with an ability to prioritize and make decisions in a timely manner.
Advanced financial analysis skills, including building robust cash flow forecasts and financial models.
Professional designation an asset, e.g., CFA, CPA.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Good oral and written communication.
Ability to develop and maintain a network of business contacts.
Proficiency in English and French (oral and written) is an asset.
Occasional travel required.
Additional Information
Fiera Capital adheres to a hybrid working environment with 4 days in-office per week.
For all positions in Quebec (Montreal and Laval), proficiency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Working English proficiency is also required to serve our offices and clients worldwide.
