Job Description
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will lead and/or participate in projects for the construction and reconstruction of hydropower plants. Your focus will be on designing high‑power switchgears and controlgears, contributing technical expertise to power generation and distribution solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Design electrical power systems and their layout for various hydropower projects.
Develop power system diagrams and drawings for switchgear and controlgear, such as medium‑voltage cabinets, control panels, and power distribution centres.
Prepare project deliverables, including top‑view, elevation, detailed drawings, and layouts.
Perform or validate equipment sizing calculations, cable gauge selection, material selection, and quantity calculations.
Coordinate electrical work with structural, civil, control and protection, mechanics, and architectural disciplines.
Qualifications
University degree in Electrical Engineering.
Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
More than ten years of experience in power system design.
Knowledge of Hydro‑Québec or other public utility standards (asset).
Knowledge of power distribution methods, practices, and tools.
Practical knowledge of design software (AutoCAD and others).
Fluency in French and English.
Knowledge of applicable design standards and codes, including the Quebec Electrical Code.
Resourceful, motivated, and enthusiastic with a strong will to deliver successful projects.
