Overview / Job Summary The Atlassian Consultant partners with client stakeholders to design, implement, optimize, and support solutions across the Atlassian ecosystem. This role delivers advisory, configuration, migration, and integration services across Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and related marketplace apps. The consultant translates business requirements into scalable Atlassian solutions and promotes platform best practices, governance, and automation across multiple client environments.

Responsibilities

Lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering with stakeholders to design effective Atlassian-based solutions

Design and implement solutions across Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence aligned to client business processes and best practices

Configure and administer projects, including workflows, issue types, request types, screens, fields, permission schemes, notification schemes, and roles

Implement and optimize Jira Service Management capabilities including portals, SLAs, queues, knowledge base integration, and ITSM practices

Build and structure Confluence spaces and content frameworks using templates, macros, and knowledge management best practices

Evaluate, recommend, install, and configure Marketplace apps and extensions to extend platform functionality

Develop and maintain automation using Jira Automation and app-based automation tools

Support and execute migrations (Server/Data Center to Cloud, Cloud-to-Cloud), including assessment, planning, testing, and post-migration validation

Implement platform governance standards including naming conventions, permission models, configuration controls, and usage guidelines

Design integrations with external systems using native connectors, APIs, and integration tools

Provide user enablement through documentation, knowledge transfer, and training sessions

Troubleshoot platform issues and provide configuration-based solutions and optimization recommendations

Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams in Agile delivery environments

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field a plus

2+ years of hands‑on experience administering and configuring Atlassian products

Strong experience with Jira Software, Jira Service Management and Confluence

Experience designing complex workflows, forms, request types, and configuration schemes

Experience with Atlassian Cloud environments strongly preferred

Experience with platform governance and configuration best practices

Experience with Jira Automation and rule design

Experience with Atlassian Marketplace apps such as ScriptRunner, Insight/Assets, or similar tools is a plus

Experience writing or modifying Groovy scripts (ScriptRunner) is beneficial

Experience with REST APIs and system integrations is beneficial

Migration experience (Server/Data Center to Cloud) preferred

Familiarity with ITSM, Agile, DevOps, or knowledge management practices is a plus

Atlassian certifications or accreditations preferred (ACP, ACA, or Atlassian Certified Professional tracks)

Strong written and verbal communication skills with client‑facing experience

Ability to translate business needs into technical configurations

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Ability to work independently and across cross‑functional teams
