While security and surveillance installations are a large part of our work, this position would also take on jobs that involve much more than just alarm systems and cameras. From smart‑home technology implementations to enterprise networking, we are now delivering customized home automation solutions and helping our customers experience a truly connected home or business. By installing and repairing complex residential/business alarm systems
By identifying, analyzing and investigating customer concerns/issues
By using your strong computer and networking skills to troubleshoot any customer issues
By taking your passion for smart‑home automation and the connected user experience to educate our customers on the possibilities of our technology
Basic knowledge of English is required because you will occasionally interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its provincial scope.
Qualifications
What you bring
Previous experience providing exceptional customer service
You're comfortable with solutions based selling, recommending products to your customers and up‑selling TELUS services and products
You are bondable (a security clearance and criminal record check is required)
Clean and valid Class 5 Driver's License without GDL or restrictions - or other provincial equivalent, a driver’s abstract will be required
Normal colour vision which is required to work with colour‑coded wiring
You can handle a physically demanding workload which includes heavy lifting, crawling in confined spaces and working in all weather conditions
You are comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders along with working on man lifts and scissor lifts
Flexibility to work various shifts: days, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, to meet business needs
Willingness to support our customers in various areas in when needed
Pro‑activeness, demonstrated effective decision‑making skills and can work with limited supervision
Ability to plan, prioritize and thrive in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and effectively work in a team environment and collaborate with other departments
Follow safe work practices and abide by all safety rules and regulations
Exhibit enthusiasm to continuous learning, high performance and have a demonstrated ability to learn and apply learned skills to related situations
Proven solid work ethic and a high level of professional integrity
Outstanding interpersonal and team communication skills
Professional, friendly and positive work ethic
You are an ambitious self‑starter
Candidate must be fluent in French and basic knowledge to English
Security/alarm installation training will be provided
Great to have's
Post‑secondary education in electronics, computers/IT or similar is a significant asset
Security Systems Technician Trades Qualified (TQ) certification is a significant asset
Electrical FSR designation is a significant asset
Previous security/alarm installation experience is an asset
Salary Range: $50,000-$74,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 5%
Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
