Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Production Engineering

As Senior Manager, Software Engineering – Production Engineering , you will lead a high‑performing team that builds the core infrastructure and platform enabling our product to scale safely, reliably, and cost‑efficiently.

Our Production Engineering team is part of the larger Engineering organization, working closely with Site Reliability, Dev Acceleration, Backend Foundations, AI Foundations, and Trust Engineering.

Responsibilities
Live and breathe operational excellence; collaborate with team leads to master individual crafts and build exceptional systems.
Own coaching, 1‑on‑1s, goal setting, and feedback for Engineering Managers and Individual Contributors to promote career growth.
Represent the group in hiring, contributing to a world‑class, scalable engineering organization.
Remove roadblocks, establish guardrails, and maintain an environment for top‑quality delivery.
Partner with Product, GTM, Design, and Program Management to deliver delight for small businesses.
Work quarterly on code, stay current with evolving technology, and build empathy for engineering challenges.
Adopt AI tools to enhance development practices, ensuring they augment human creativity.
Required Qualifications
Proven track record as a software engineer and at least one leadership role managing multiple teams and/ or Engineer Managers.
Strong technical acumen, skilled at guiding teams through complex problem solving and technical strategy.
Deep experience in agile environments, with a record of adapting to change and solving problems creatively.
Excellent written and oral communication, transparency, and collaborative leadership.
Effective performance management and coaching style.
Experience with developer AI tools such as Copilot or Cursor.
Cloud expertise, preferably on AWS; accountable for deployment performance, security, and fiscal efficiency.
Comfort with budgets, forecasting cloud spend, and managing vendors.
Highly Desired (Not Deal‑Breaker)
Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React (React Native optional).
Experience with GraphQL, API layer, and optimization.
Basic AWS knowledge (Lambda, ECS, EC2).
Proven experience leading 3+ teams as a manager of managers.
Knowledge of GTM tools like Salesforce and HubSpot.
Operational experience: on‑call rotation, incident response, proactive improvement.
Design system or mobile development background.
Compensation
The minimum annual salary is
$196,300 CAD , with a midpoint of
$230,900 CAD
and a maximum of
$265,600 CAD .
The range is designed to reflect progression from learning the role to excelling and to support long‑term impact.
