The Situation Next Room is a student housing platform startup that consistently reaches over 150,000 monthly impressions. To date, the project has been founder-funded. We have moved past the proof‑of‑concept phase and are now building the “Next Room Bridge”—a middleware infrastructure that syndicates real‑time property management data (Yardi/Entrata) to major marketplaces like Facebook.

The Role This is a Co‑Founder position. You will be responsible for the technical roadmap and the execution of our core products:

Next Room Bridge:

Developing the API logic to synchronize property management systems with external ILS platforms.

Virtual Leasing Agent:

Architecting an AI‑driven communication layer to automate lead qualification.

Infrastructure Management:

Overseeing our GCP environment and maintaining our proprietary data collection systems.

Requirements

Recent graduate or final‑year student in Computer Science or Software Engineering, ideally from uOttawa or Carleton.

Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and cloud infrastructure (GCP).

Experience with API integrations and web automation.

A founder’s mindset: You prioritize solving the problem over following a syllabus.

Compensation & Commitment This is an equity‑only role (15% – 25%) until our seed round is secured. A standard vesting schedule with a one‑year cliff will apply to ensure long‑term alignment.
