Description ENTRUST Canada is an engineering consulting firm with offices in Calgary and Regina that provides design and engineering services to the electric power delivery industry. Our expertise includes all aspects of Transmission, Substation and Distribution systems for voltages ranging from 4160V to 500 kV.

Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Transmission Engineer to join our team in Calgary to support the transmission lines design group. We offer a dynamic work environment with a highly experienced technical team, where you will be offered guidance and hands on training and be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.

The successful candidate will provide high‑voltage transmission line design and analysis using PLS‑CADD software and other engineering design tools, while completing detailed engineering calculations and supporting documentation to aid design development. This role involves preparing engineering reports, estimates, material take‑offs, scopes of work, survey packages, and complete design packages. The engineer will conduct site visits for field reconnaissance during the design phase and perform field inspections during construction to support successful project delivery. Responsibilities also include reviewing designs against applicable industry codes, standards, and internal MHV standards, actively promoting Safety in Design, and supporting the coaching, training, and mentorship of junior staff. The individual will act as a Design Lead on assigned projects with guidance from the senior engineering team, manage customer interactions, and maintain project schedules and budgets.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.

Proven track record in transmission lines design of high voltage facilities.

6+ years’ work experience.

4+ years’ experience with PLS‑CADD.

P.Eng. is required (or technologist certification).

Registered as an active member with APEGA or eligibility for registration.

Preferred

Previous experience leading a design team and mentoring junior engineers.
