As an Accountant, you'll collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting-critical to driving organizational value and supporting strategic decisions.
As a Financial Analyst, you'll partner with operations to deliver insights through variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. Your work will influence annual budgets, strategic planning, and performance tracking, helping us stay on course for success.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Post journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
Review and reconcile accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with auditors to provide timely, accurate information.
Approve order submissions and verify account coding against company policies.
Monitor cash and investment profiles to maintain financial health.
Collaborate with Shared Services (AP, AR, Treasury).
Reporting & Analysis
Deliver weekly financial reports to support business decisions.
Assist with cost control and indirect spending, update budget owners on results.
Partner with operations to prepare forecasts and support annual budgeting and strategic planning.
Track and report metrics (hours, headcount, turnover).

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
Pursuing or successful completion of CPA designation is required.
3 to 8 years of experience working in a Finance or Accounting position. (Please note, we do not have any entry level roles that we will be hiring for. We are looking for intermediate and senior level individuals at this time).
Experience working in a construction, manufacturing, shipbuilding or production environment preferred.
Experience working in environments of both Financial Reporting and Cost Accounting.
Experience working with multiple stakeholders.
Experience in delivering presentations to senior management.
Quickly learns new things and helps others to learn and develop.
Helps create an atmosphere for easy exchange of ideas and opinions.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
