Associate, Commercial Litigation

Responsibilities

Handle a variety of commercial litigation matters, including securities, competition, and general civil litigation

Work closely with partners in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment

Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda

Appear in court for procedural matters and hearings, as appropriate

Support litigation strategy and trial preparation

Take on responsibility early, with close guidance and mentorship from partners

Full-time position based in Toronto

In-office presence expected most days, with flexibility for occasional work from home

The firm emphasizes mentorship, learning, and long-term associate development

Requirements

Approximately 1 to 6+ years of call (flexible depending on fit and trajectory)

Solid foundation in commercial and/or general litigation

Strong drafting skills and ability to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar matters

Proactive, self-starting mindset and comfort managing a varied workload

Strong communication skills and team-oriented approach

Demonstrated interest in building a long-term litigation practice, with partner-track potential
