Software Engineer 18: salaries typically range from $96,557 to $128,743 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location
Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week (subject to change).
This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview
The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 to empower customers and colleagues by delivering secure digital experiences. Objectives include:
Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
Establish and manage the rolling 3-Year Digital Roadmap that sequences technology outcomes required to reach that state.
Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure EDC remains relevant and grows Canadian global trade.
Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.
Digital Platform Delivery & Architecture (DPDA) group plays a critical role in enabling leaders to leverage technologies by providing an easy-to-use, secure and fit-for-purpose digital business platform.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Financial Crimes and Know Your Customer (KYC) Platform team. In this role, you will build and enhance mission-critical systems that safeguard our organization and customers. You will develop and maintain a .NET and Angular-based application integrating with industry-leading commercial screening tools and enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and ServiceNow. You’ll work closely with business, compliance, and technology partners to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that strengthen financial crime detection and customer risk management capabilities.
What You Will Be Doing
Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using .NET and Angular with git version control.
Deploy and maintain YAML pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server table structures and queries.
Develop and enhance features supporting financial crime prevention, customer due diligence, and ongoing KYC operations.
Integrate with commercial screening solutions (watchlist screening, adverse media tools) and key enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, authentication services, and internal APIs.
Collaborate with architecture, security, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory, privacy, and operational standards.
Lead design discussions, code reviews, and best practice engineering processes for the team.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis with long-term preventive solutions.
Contribute to platform modernization, automation, and process improvements.
Mentor other engineers and help elevate overall team capability.
Collaborate with squad Technical Lead, Business Analysts and Testers.
What We Are Looking For
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Software Engineer/Developer.
Highly proficient in .NET 6+ and Angular 16+.
Highly familiar with git operation, Azure DevOps, and PowerShell scripting.
Highly comfortable working with SQL Server query optimization, table structure design, and DACPAC operations.
What Will Make You Stand Out
Familiarity with financial crimes, AML, KYC, or regulatory technology concepts.
Experience working in cloud or hybrid environments (Azure experience preferred).
Hands-on experience integrating with enterprise systems, REST APIs, and workflow platforms (ServiceNow experience is an asset).
Bilingual in both official languages of Canada (English and French).
