Job Description
The purpose of this role is to develop and lead integrated marketing strategies that drive business growth across key Staples divisions. It transforms consumer insights, merchant priorities, and business objectives into clear, actionable campaign plans that guide cross‑functional teams and channel partners. The role ensures consistent execution of strategic messaging, fosters strong vendor and internal relationships, and maintains operational excellence through reporting, process optimization, and calendar management. Additionally, it provides leadership within the marketing organization by shaping category thought leadership and supporting team development.
Specifically, You Will:
Develop annual campaign calendar for programs to drive overall business metrics in support of multiple key divisions (Facilities, Supplies, Travel, Kids, Furniture).
Create marketing program briefs and present to the creative team and project managers. Get alignment across teams to ensure objectives, background and target audiences are understood.
Work with owned, paid and earned media teams to develop go-to-market plans reflective of campaign objectives.
Partner with merchant team (directors, managers and specialists) to understand quarterly and monthly priorities. Develop support plans for promotional activity, new launches, top brands, etc.
Provide recommendations on go-to-market strategy; acting as a strategic partner – not just a service provider. Be prepared to challenge assumptions and influence teams to think differently.
Develop strong relationships with key vendors and execute marketing programs that support new launches, promos and seasonal priorities in-line with Staples enterprise calendar.
Build omni-channel campaigns encompassing both paid, owned and earned tactics to support collaborative vendor and Staples’ priorities.
Build and analyze reports to provide visibility into marketing campaign results and measure campaign effectiveness, including outbound marketing metrics, lead distribution, opportunity stages, pipeline contribution, and ROI.
Translate marketing objectives and consumer insights into a communication strategy that considers customer mentality, seasonality and business goals.
Some of what you need:
Post-secondary education with a focus in Marketing or Communications
5-7 years prior experience in Marketing Strategy, Planning or Communications Role
Experience in retail, technology orConsumerPackagedGoods marketing is an asset.
Strong business acumen, resourceful and responsive to change
Able to navigate uncertainty and a diverse set of opinions
Ability to manage large and multi-faceted projects and programs at one time
Ability to balance strategic thinking while executing highly detailed initiatives
Great collaboration skills and attention to detail
Office environment – Hybrid, with 4 days onsite in Richmond Hill
