Director of Distribution

CaribbeanTales Media Group seeks a dynamic Director of Distribution to lead global sales and licensing for our diverse catalogue of films, documentaries, and digital content through CaribbeanTales Worldwide Distribution. This senior role drives revenue growth while advancing our mission of amplifying BIPOC and cultural narratives worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive distribution strategies for individual films and the catalogue as a whole in film festival, theatrical, streaming, broadcast, and educational markets across the US, UK, Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and emerging platforms.

Negotiate high-value licensing deals, carriage agreements, and co-productions with broadcasters (e.g., Netflix), festivals (e.g., TIFF, DIFF, Berlinale), and VOD services, targeting annual revenue growth of 20-30%.

Represent CTWD at key markets like Cannes Marché du Film and Sunny Side of the Doc; track KPIs including sell-through rates and territorial expansions.

Required Qualifications

7+ years in film/TV sales or distribution, including experience with independent/Black content; proven network in content distribution essential.

Bachelor's in Business, Media, or related field; fluency in English and French/Spanish a strong asset for regional deals.

Expertise in deal analytics, contract negotiation, and market forecasting; passion for cultural storytelling aligns with our non‑profit ethos.

Compensation & Benefits Base salary ($50,000–$70,000 CAD equivalent), plus competitive (up to 10%) performance bonuses tied to revenue generation. Benefits include festival travel, professional development, and flexible work.
