We are searching for the best talent for a Product Manager, Shoulder Reconstruction & Sports Medicine to join our Orthopaedics Canada team. This position is based in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Remote work options may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis and if approved by the Company. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
Purpose
As the Product Manager for Shoulder Reconstruction & Sports Medicine, you will play a key role in driving DePuy Synthes growth across Canada. You will lead the development and execution of strategic and tactical marketing initiatives, aligning national activities with global product engine strategies to deliver strong sales, profitability, and brand performance. This is a hands‑on national leadership role that combines strategic marketing, product management, training, and commercial execution.
You Will Be Responsible For
Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop and implement 3–5 year portfolio strategies for Shoulder Reconstruction and Sports Medicine, ensuring alignment with global direction and effective local market adaptation.
Partner with sales teams to design and execute launch plans, including positioning, pricing, promotions, and targeting.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (Medical Education, RA, CA, Legal, Finance) to drive cohesive execution of marketing plans and budgets.
Business Insights & Market Intelligence
Conduct regular business reviews to analyze sales performance, identify market trends, opportunities, and gaps.
Consolidate and communicate National needs to global marketing teams for new product planning.
Facilitate sharing of best practices, success cases, and market learnings across Canadian Market.
Customer Engagement & Field Support
Build strong partnerships with surgeons, KOLs, and sales network to understand unmet clinical needs and strengthen market presence.
Participate in conferences, workshops, and live surgeries to gather insights and promote DePuy Synthes solutions.
Support commercial teams with product knowledge, competitive intelligence, and conversion strategies.
Forecasting & Demand Planning
Collaborate with Finance and sales teams to develop accurate forecasts and inventory plans, minimizing E&O risk.
Identify growth drivers and risks to achieve sustained business performance.
Training & Education
Design and deliver internal training programs to enhance sales effectiveness and product expertise.
Partner with Medical Education to plan and execute HCP training programs aligned with strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field is required.
Minimum of 6 years experience in sales or marketing is required. Experience in Sports Medicine, Extremities, or Shoulder Reconstruction is preferred.
Demonstrated experience engaging KOLs and sales network across Canada.
Strong commercial, financial and analytical skills with demonstrated experience building forecasts and managing budgets.
Experience with product launches, clinician education programs and lifecycle management.
Exposure to RFP / tender processes and working with strategic accounts/GPOs.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage surgeons, clinical teams and internal stakeholders.
Strong ability in sales training, field execution, and KOL engagement.
Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to market development and multi‑channel promotion.
Deep understanding of market dynamics, customer segmentation, and competitive positioning in Sports Medicine or related fields.
Thrives in a fast‑paced, matrix organization with regional and global interfaces.
Work environment: Cross‑functional, high‑collaboration matrix setting.
Bilingual in English and French considered an asset.
Ability to travel up to 30% (primarily within Canada).
External Pay Range
The expected base pay range for this position is $94,000 to $162,150 CAD.
