Position Summary
We operate a production integration environment built on open-source Mule (Mule Community Edition) that currently faces throughput, latency, and stability challenges under load, with no vendor support available. We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineering Partner / Specialist to assess the existing platform, identify root causes, remediate performance and reliability issues, and establish sustainable operational and governance controls for long-term stability.
Key Responsibilities
Perform deep-dive assessment of the existing Mule CE integration landscape
Diagnosing root causes of performance, scalability, and stability issues
Optimize throughput, latency, memory usage, and thread management
Improve error handling, monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms
Implement best practices for integration design, deployment, and operations
Establish operational runbooks, performance baselines, and governance standards
Provide recommendations for future scalability and platform sustainability
Required Experience & Skills
4–5 years of hands‑on experience working with Mule ESB / Mule Community Edition in production environments
Proven expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and load optimization
Experience supporting integration platforms without vendor support
Deep understanding of JVM, threading, memory management, and resource utilization
Strong knowledge of API and system integrations (REST, HTTP/S, file-based integrations)
Ability to document findings, solutions, and operational processes clearly
Preferred / Nice to Have
Experience with migration strategies (Mule CE → MuleSoft Anypoint or other iPaaS tools)
Exposure to monitoring tools and observability practices
Experience stabilizing high-volume, mission-critical integration platforms
Month-to-Month Activities (Summary)
Months 1–2:
Onboarding, product/platform understanding, stakeholder alignment, team shadowing.
Months 3–4:
Customer interactions, requirement gathering, user stories, Agile ceremonies.
Months 5–6:
Deliver enhancements, coordinate cross-functional teams, resolve blockers.
Months 7–9:
Lead complex initiatives, backlog refinement, identify upsell opportunities.
Months 10–12:
Support roadmap planning, strategic inputs, mentor junior team members.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Customer Success: Clear requirements, strong customer satisfaction, successful engagements.
Delivery: On-time releases, improved sprint velocity, fewer requirement defects.
Market Insight: Relevant competitive inputs, roadmap recommendations adopted.
