Our Ideal Candidate
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for helping with the design services for bridge design, road design, infrastructure, industrial/commercial structures, land development, as well as field services projects.in the public and private sectors.
You will have knowledge of concrete, steel and wood design, evaluation, inspections, specifications, and contract administration. Business development, budgeting, and project management will complement your technical expertise. You will also continually foster and grow strong relationships with our clients.
Using your considerable organizational, communication and people skills, you will collaborate with multi-discipline teams to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, and to high quality standards.
A Day in the Life
Preparation of engineering designs and related documents for various projects
Perform field reviews during various stages of projects throughout construction ( ie . Rebar layout, structural steel etc.)
Collaborate with structural or civil team, comprised of engineers, designers, project coordinators, and others, to assist with the development of engineering design and related documents
Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards
Gain experience in material testing and surveying
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural and registered as an EIT with EGBC in the province of British Columbia
Minimum 1+ years of structural/civil engineering experience is an asset, but not necessary. New graduates will be considered.
Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written)
Proven ability to interact with clients and to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
Technical competence and strong attention to detail
The following will be considered an asset, but not necessary:
Experience performing construction layout reviews or surveys
Experience reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFI's
Experience in the design of concrete, steel and timber structures is desired
Experience supporting the delivery of projects on schedule, on budget, in scope at the required quality and achieving client satisfaction
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience working in Northern BC or remote environments.
Experience with material testing (soils and concrete)
