Railway System Engineer , you will contribute to innovative solutions for critical systems that ensure the safety and performance of transportation infrastructure. This role will primarily focus on the infrastructure within a railway system and is a critical position within a railway project. Centered on the design of cable management systems, the role requires multiple interfaces with other teams to ensure a systems-based design approach. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of guideway infrastructure solutions on elevated guideways, in tunnels, and at junction points for each station.

Your Impact

Design and integrate cable management systems for all railway subsystems on complex projects (MV, OCS, COMS, S&TCS).

Design and coordinate cable containment systems in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.

Develop cable containment layouts for elevated guideways, tunnels, stations, and inter-system junction points.

Coordinate cable containment interfaces with civil, structural, and architectural disciplines.

Produce and review 3D models, drawings, and layouts using Civil 3D, BIM, and Revit to support an integrated design approach.

Ensure cable containment designs are fully coordinated within the BIM environment and aligned with project information delivery requirements.

Ensure all solutions comply with applicable safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize system integration and interoperability.

Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates related to cable management and containment systems.

The Skills That Set You Apart

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline with minimum 5 years in the railway industry.

Member in good standing of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or another Canadian engineering jurisdiction.

Proven experience in electrical design and cable management.

Knowledge of railway standards (AREMA, CENELEC) is an asset.

Ability to work on large-scale projects with tight schedules and high-quality requirements.

Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $114,600 – $151,800 MB & ON: $104,500 – $143,900 NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $103,500 – $137,400
