Position Summary
In this role you will design electrical systems in the context of new product development, current products improvement, or special applications or custom products. Committed to the Shingo/SBS Model principles and applies the tools and concepts.
This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite, 3 days per week.
What You'll do as an Electrical Designer II
Apply internal procedures and external quality standards;
Select and / or design parts or a subset of parts using a computer-aided design (CAO);
Obtain the technical specifications of their parts from suppliers and ensure that they meet the requirements of STERIS;
Carry out the following technical drawings: parts or sub-assembly of parts, harnesses, pneumatic, manufacturing plans, assembly plans, service plans, illustrations;
Design a portion of the system under the alignment of an engineer;
Enter the required information in the PLM system: creation of parts, nomenclature of products, etc.;
Support production staff and suppliers when required;
Make all the electrical and pneumatic components of a prototype. Make the necessary adjustments to their installation / operation in accordance with verbal or written directives.
Execute testing of designed systems.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Associate Degree in Electrical engineering;
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a related field.
Proficient in advanced functions of technical software design packages (CREO, ePlan).
Proficient in advanced/complex technical design documentation (drafting, schematics, symbols)
Proficient in product lifecycle management through release and change management documentation.
Experienced designing in multiple manufacturing methods within the technical function (cable harnesses, PCBAs, etc.)
Hand-on aptitude within the technical area of expertise (oscilloscopes, wiring, crimping, hand tools, multimeters).
Proficient in Microsoft products; Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Effective written and verbal communication in French and English.
Ability to analyse and solve problems.
Autonomous, rigorous and demonstrates initiative.
