The Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic and experienced

Managing Director – Energy & Utilities Solutions

to lead and grow our Technology Solutions for the Canadian Market. This senior-level consulting role is responsible for driving strategic growth, overseeing complex program delivery, and leading a high-performing team across solution domains such as Grid Modernization, Operational Technology, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Customer Technologies.

The ideal candidate combines management consulting acumen with deep technical expertise in at least one core technology area and has a proven track record of building consulting practices, delivering large-scale transformation programs, and engaging with executive stakeholders across regulated utilities and critical infrastructure sectors.

This role reports to the Portfolio Leader of Infrastructure Technology Solutions. The Managing Director will work closely with Solution Leaders, Market Leaders, Key Account Managers, internal delivery teams, and external partners to ensure the successful execution and growth of business. This role has an annual sales target and is also accountable for annual market revenue.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Growth & Market Expansion

Drive the expansion of solutions and services across Canada and North America.

Collaborate with Industry Market Leaders, Solution Leaders, Client Account Managers, and Sales Directors to identify opportunities, shape offerings, and support strategic pursuits.

Pursue and secure multi-million-dollar deals, engage in account planning, and utilize executive networks to foster business expansion.

Lead and/or support the development of complex proposals and go-to-market strategies.

Governance & Delivery Oversight

Provide executive oversight for multiple concurrent programs, ensuring quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Establish and enforce delivery governance frameworks across diverse technology solutions.

Act as an escalation point for complex delivery challenges, offering hands‑on guidance and problem‑solving.

Consulting Delivery & Client Engagement

Lead advisory and implementation of large‑scale, complex OT and Grid Modernization programs

Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, engaging with executive stakeholders to drive transformational outcomes.

Drive client engagements focused on business capability enablement, data governance, IT‑OT convergence, and operational readiness.

Combine management consulting acumen with technical capabilities to shape and deliver impactful outcomes.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team of consultants, solution architects, and project leaders.

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Expand and manage regional delivery teams.

Participate in recruiting, performance management, and career development of team members

Integrated Solution Enablement

Develop and promote integrated offerings across complementary areas such as Grid Modernization, OT, cybersecurity, and asset management.

Develop targeted solution strategies and support content development for client engagements

Influence and support strategic relationships with technology partners and vendors; collaborate on joint solution development and go‑to‑market initiatives.

Position the company as a market leader through speaking engagements, publications and industry forums.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or related technical field.

15+ years of experience in Technology Consulting, including leadership roles in management consulting for utilities or critical infrastructure.

Extensive network and strong relationships within the energy and utilities sector of the Canadian market.

Proven experience building and scaling consulting practices, including Profit & Loss ownership.

Demonstrated depth of technical domain expertise and extensive delivery experience across diverse OT/IT programs, enabling effective leadership and mentorship of delivery teams

Demonstrated success in leading large, complex programs and orchestrating distributed delivery teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in solution selling and governance related to operational technology (OT), and Grid modernization solutions such as ADMS, DERMS, Grid automation, AMI 2.0, and OT‑IT integration.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience

Has successfully managed multiple engagements simultaneously

Contributor or leader to acquire new engagements

12-15+ years in a business/consulting environment

Certifications Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Travel required based on client and business needs (up to 40%).

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
