Data Management Consultant

Position Title: IMT Management Consultant Location: Edmonton, AB (Remote) Mode: Contract Position Overview This role involves providing strategic leadership and advisory services in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise data services that support analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), data orchestration, and data governance. The consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to support the Client enterprise data strategy and roadmap. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Advisory Provide strategic leadership and advisory services related to enterprise data strategy, governance, and data services architecture. Support the design and implementation of a

federated data ecosystem

enabling data sharing, analytics, and AI capabilities across government ministries. Facilitate executive-level discussions and provide recommendations aligned with enterprise data strategy objectives. Data Platform and AI Services Contribute to the design and development of enterprise data platform services supporting analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data processing capabilities. Support the integration and orchestration of data platforms, advanced analytics tools, and AI services. Provide subject matter expertise on emerging technologies and best practices related to data platforms and AI services. Strategy Development and Roadmapping Advance the

OneData Alberta strategy, tactical plans, and enterprise data roadmap . Develop strategic frameworks, architecture models, and service blueprints to support data management initiatives. Prepare executive briefings, options analyses, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with cross-ministry stakeholders to align business requirements, technical architecture, and strategic objectives. Deliver presentations, roadshows, and demonstrations to promote the OneData Alberta initiative and encourage adoption across ministries. Facilitate workshops and strategic discussions to support decision-making and stakeholder alignment. Program and Project Support Provide leadership and advisory support throughout project lifecycles from discovery to implementation and continuous improvement. Assist in developing business cases, feasibility studies, risk assessments, and project/program plans. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies. Data Governance and Service Design Support the design and implementation of enterprise data governance frameworks and lifecycle management processes. Develop service models and operational frameworks for data management and AI service delivery. Define key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and outcome measurements to assess program effectiveness. Strategic roadmaps and enterprise data architecture frameworks Business cases, feasibility studies, and program plans Executive presentations and briefing materials Architecture diagrams, service blueprints, and operational models Weekly and monthly status reports as required by the client Mandatory Qualifications Education The proposed resource must meet

one of the following requirements : University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience, or A 2-year diploma in a related discipline with 8 years of progressive experience, or A 1-year certificate in a related discipline with 9 years of progressive experience, or 10 years of progressive related experience in lieu of formal education. Required Experience Candidates must demonstrate the following experience: 5 years

of experience architecting and integrating

AI, machine learning, and analytics services

into enterprise or government data platforms to support large-scale data orchestration and processing. 3 years

of experience managing the

end-to-end delivery of complex IMT projects , including solution reviews, progress monitoring, risk management, and adoption planning. 7 years

of experience leading the

design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise IMT services and roadmaps

using agile and user-centered approaches. 3 years

of experience facilitating

strategic discussions with executives and cross-organizational stakeholders

to align architectural priorities and business objectives. 5 years

of experience designing and implementing

enterprise data governance frameworks and lifecycle management processes

within large and complex organizations. 5 years

of experience developing

business cases, feasibility studies, risk assessments, scope definitions, and program/project plans . Preferred Qualifications The following experience will be considered an asset: 3 years

of experience designing and orchestrating secure

CI/CD pipelines for data and AI services . 7 years

of experience working with

cloud platforms and data services

including storage, compute, analytics, and data management solutions. Experience designing and implementing

generative AI and agent-based AI solutions . Experience applying

privacy, security, and regulatory compliance requirements

to enterprise data platforms and AI systems. Experience creating

architecture diagrams, service blueprints, journey maps, strategic roadmaps, and program plans .
