ID-Network Cabling Infrastructure Specialist I DESCRIPTION AWS is looking to hire a highly motivated, Data Center Network Cabling Infrastructure Specialist to join our growing Infrastructure Delivery Team in Singapore. The Cabling Infrastructure team is responsible for installing structured network cabling, such as optical fiber and ethernet cables inside our data centers. Their scope includes supporting data center build projects and auditing data center components. The Data Center Network Cabling Infrastructure Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver the network cabling requirements for incoming server racks in a very short period of time while maintaining great quality of work.

Candidate must possess great attention to detail and planning skills and have the desire to maintain high quality work standards at all times. Amazon Data Centers take customer data with the utmost importance, and selected candidates must be able to perform strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that protect customer data and company intellectual property.

Key job responsibilities

Perform cabling installation and conduct position and power audit for servers

Manage the availability of cabling materials to facilitate installation

Perform cable management, labeling and recording of network port information according to AWS Cabling Standards

Manage and escort cabling vendors and ensure compliance with AWS installation practices

Manage and complete tasks or requests via web-based ticketing system

Follow safety and security procedures as per AWS standard policy

Develop and implement process improvements, including documentation of new and existing internal procedures

Collaborate with various stakeholders to solve operational issues

Support our Network Engineering & Technical Project Manager to ensure smooth implementation and handover of network infrastructure deployment projects to operations team

Understand project scope and requirements, create project plan and ensure timely implementation of projects

A day in the life To be successful in this role you should possess technical aptitude, written and oral communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. You must possess strong planning skills with demonstrated problem‑solving ability and be able to exercise high levels of initiative, judgment and diplomacy.

Basic qualifications

Diploma or Higher in Information Systems or similar discipline

Proficient with computers and business applications such as email and spreadsheets

Minimum 2–3 years of cabling experience

Basic knowledge of cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies

Basic troubleshooting skills for networking, physical interconnectivity issues including patch panels and patch cords

Strong prioritization and time‑management ability

Ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations

Strong English language – written and verbal

Minimal overseas travelling may be required

Preferred qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of experience working in a data center environment

Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge and understanding of common networking terms

Knowledge of network cabling types, optics, and test equipment

Working experience in a virtualized enterprise networking environment

Experience with small to medium network projects that may encompass some level of complexity

Experience working in a highly secured environment
