Who We Are Looking For
Boughton Law is currently recruiting for a junior to intermediate Corporate Services Clerk. Reporting to the Corporate Services Supervisor, this role supports the Corporate Services team with the preparation and handling of annual maintenance documents and a variety of other corporate records and administrative duties.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Open and distribute incoming mail within the Corporate Services Department
Prepare annual maintenance documents (annual reports/returns, annual consent resolutions) for British Columbia companies and Federal corporations
Sort returned annual reports/returns and collate same for filing at corporate registry
Attend to corporate registry filings including annual reports, changes of directors, and changes of registered/records office addresses
Draft standard letters and documents and routine e‑mail correspondence concerning annual maintenance using application software (Word, Outlook and ALF)
Maintain bring‑forward system
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established systems, processes, and best practices with consistency
Prepare invoices and post time using Acumin accounting software
Qualifications
Corporate records experience is an asset, and training will be provided for the right candidate
Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant Program and/or legal experience in a similar position
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent English oral and written skills
Excellent organizational skills
Able to draft standard correspondence with minimum supervision
Experience with corporate databases (ALF) and BC Online is an asset
Able to communicate effectively with clients, lawyers and staff
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with billing/invoicing processes in a legal environment would be an asset
