About The Role
The
Director, Finance
will lead Finance and Operations for Brookfield Global Transition Fund I (“BGTF I”), a private funds platform, with a focus on energy transition and decarbonization solutions. This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team within a high‑growth platform, offering meaningful exposure and significant long‑term growth potential for high‑performing individuals in a highly visible leadership capacity that provides exposure to senior leadership across Brookfield and external stakeholders.
The role offers the unique opportunity to influence and institutionalize scalable processes, drive financial and operational excellence, and lead innovation in reporting and technology enablement. The incumbent will also be involved with several important functions within our team, including financial reporting, financial operations, treasury and liquidity, compliance, investor relations, and business planning and forecasting. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic insight, operating effectively across both detailed financial work and high‑level business advisory.
Key Accountabilities
Provide strategic oversight of fund finance and operations, including investor reporting, fund administration, valuations, performance measurement, and compliance.
Lead financial and ESG reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance for senior management and investors.
Oversee liquidity management, capital efficiency, and treasury operations, including onboarding of new investments and overseeing capital transactions.
Establish and maintain subject matter authority across all fund operational matters to advise on fund operational matters inclusive of investor reporting, valuations, performance measurement, and fund administration.
Review and prepare ad‑hoc performance analysis, investor materials, due diligence questions and other to support fundraising process for new private renewable funds.
Develop and institutionalize scalable processes and frameworks that can be leveraged across the platform, ensuring efficiency and consistency for future funds.
Leverage automation and technology to streamline finance and operations, reducing manual processes and improving accuracy.
Partner closely with deal, legal, tax, compliance, and investor relations teams to align financial processes with organizational objectives.
Implement metrics and KPIs to track and enhance the effectiveness of financial and operational processes across the platform.
Review, prepare, and present analysis to senior management to support decision‑making, fundraising, and investor engagement.
Lead the annual audit process, collaborating with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
Foster high‑level collaboration with senior internal stakeholders and executive‑level external partners to ensure legal entity records are maintained appropriately and in compliance with accounting standards and relevant policies.
Mentor and develop managers, senior analysts, and analysts, driving high performance and succession planning, including providing constructive feedback and performance reviews.
Qualifications & Requirements
CA or CPA designation with at least 7-10 years of progressive work experience in an accounting or finance function and with at least 2-3 years of managing teams.
Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills.
Highly analytical with great attention to detail.
Strategic thinker that can think outside the box, focused on efficiency and improving existing processes.
Demonstrated leadership ability, a team player with positive attitude.
Experience managing staff through large projects and tight timelines.
Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills, can work effectively with all levels and departments within a complex organization.
Can work in a dynamic, complex, fast‑paced environment, adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
Self‑motivated and pro‑active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development.
