Bring your science and engineering knowledge to this role where you will contribute to turning complex science into exciting exhibits, programs and digital content. You will connect with diverse audiences, collaborate across teams and represent the Ontario Science Centre in the media.
About the job
Research, communicate and break down scientific and technical information in engaging, creative ways for audiences
Share your science knowledge when working with internal teams to create exhibits, programs and digital content
Represent the Ontario Science Centre in media opportunities (radio, newspaper, online content and news broadcasts)
Consider diversity, inclusion and accessibility in your work
Contribute to science theme plans, our digital interactive website and various partner projects
What you bring to the team
Knowledge of science, communication and research
Specialized theoretical knowledge in one or more of the following fields: engineering and technology, astronomy, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, environmental sciences, materials science or equivalent
Creativity and experience with communicating complex science through written or digital mediums, programs and exhibits
The ability to engage with scientific experts, the academic community and government research facilities
Presentation, analytical, conceptual and customer service skills
Communication skills
Communicate creatively to turn complex information into easily understood applications for the public
Collaborate with project teams across the organization
Effectively connect with diverse audiences with varying skill levels in science
Adapt communications depending on the delivery format, including live streams, pre-recorded videos, live demonstrations and written materials
Organizational and technology skills
Stay organized and manage time to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
Pay close attention to details and ensure work is accurate and of high quality
Use technology tools and systems to research and prepare reports
Record videos, take photos and participate in live-streaming events
