Municipal Engineering Technologist

Position Overview The City of Saint John is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Municipal Engineering Technologist.

Responsibilities

Design, inspection and testing of complex municipal works projects with emphasis on water, sanitary sewer, transportation, storm drainage, road construction and environment projects.

Research and maintain records for existing infrastructure.

Co‑ordinate information retrieval for municipal works projects.

Co‑ordinate design and construction activities with operational areas.

Prepare quantity estimates and tender documents.

Review, approve and issue municipal permits as required.

Investigate customer requests and advise on applicable by‑laws and policies.

Conduct field investigations and surveys for various municipal works projects.

All work is conducted within the framework of an automated Work Request/Job Order system.

Essential Qualifications

Completed a two-year diploma program in Civil Engineering Technology.

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
