Team Lead

to join our growing

Electrical Engineering

team. In this role, our leaders support the execution of a wide variety of projects by providing technical expertise, leadership to staff, and support for business development activities. This includes collaboration with or overseeing a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians, leading the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, while also providing technical guidance and mentorship. Technical knowledge of complex building electrical systems and experience as a consulting engineer will set your application apart.

Our Engineering Services team in Vancouver is dynamic and tight‑knit, servicing local projects while contributing to large national and international projects as part of distributed virtual project teams. Our projects are varied and span Healthcare, National Defense, Light + Heavy Industrial, Transportation (Rail + Transit, Ports + Marines + Tunnels), Municipal, Federal (including Defense + Nuclear), and Institutional industries.

Your role

Oversee resources for your project team or the local electrical engineering team, acting as either a technical mentor, project manager, or team leader.

Participate in and/or lead the design, development, and implementation of projects, including Functional Planning, Preliminary Design, Detailed Design, and Construction Administration services.

Support the Director, Mechanical & Electrical West in implementing methods and procedures aligned with corporate standards.

Lead and support business development initiatives, including proposal writing and strategic planning for the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering group in Western Canada. Prepare and approve estimates, proposals, and technical bid evaluations.

Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships to support business growth and ensure client satisfaction.

Assess project resource requirements and participate in continuous HR processes (recruitment, performance evaluations, resource development plans, training, feedback, etc.) and contribute to evaluations and training to ensure all team members are properly trained and qualified.

All of our engineers apply project management principles to oversee projects and mentor team members. Responsibilities also include collaborating with other engineering disciplines and communicating project status, issues, and solutions to stakeholders, including clients, management, and other departments to ensure successful project outcomes.

Oversee QA/QC processes for accuracy and consistency of deliverables.

Provide technical support during construction activities and work with contractors to quickly resolve onsite issues and ensure conformance to design requirements.

Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and project delivery efficiency.

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with your local provincial engineering association, and willing to become a member in other provinces.

Minimum 12 years' of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering consulting with progressive responsibilities. At least 3 years experience in managing/coordinating technical teams.

Strong business acumen and client facing skills. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and relevant industry standards.

Demonstrable experience building and maintaining long‑term relationships with clients (i.e. understanding client objectives, anticipating and meeting client needs, and growing our business).

Excellent leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills.

Experience supervising, mentoring, and motivating a team of engineers and designers.

Willing to travel occasionally within and outside of your province of residence.

AutoCAD or Revit experience is an asset.

PMP designation or CAPM certification is an asset.

Additional information Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $120,000 - $150,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
