National Sales Manager - Subsurface Technologies
Cansel helps clients capture, transform and manage data leading to increased field‑to‑finish efficiency and profitability.
Cansel is the largest radio detection dealer in Canada.
We need a self‑motivated salesman with surveying or engineering experience; sales training will be provided.
The role requires frequent travel – at least one week per month – and a presence in one of our main offices in British Columbia, Alberta, or Ontario.
Position Summary
As National Sales Manager – Subsurface Technologies Equipment, you will lead regional sales efforts across the Cansel Group, promoting and expanding market presence of utility locating tools and ground‑penetrating radar (GPR).
The role drives revenue growth while maintaining gross‑profit targets, building customer relationships, mentoring the sales team, and aligning strategy with senior management and vendors.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of subsurface technologies with at least 3 to 5 years’ experience (a must have)
Experience as a pipe & cable locator and/or managing a sales team (a must have)
GPR, camera inspection tools & utility mapping solutions
Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools
Ability to analyze market trends and develop data‑driven sales strategies
Strong problem‑solving and technical consultation skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, business, or a related field
Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience in the subsurface technologies or field consumables sector
Proven ability to manage key accounts and develop new business opportunities
Experience in contract negotiation, pricing strategies, and sales forecasting
Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills
Willingness to travel as required
Ability to develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets
Capacity to identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the subsurface technologies and field consumables market
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, providing technical expertise and support
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and business opportunities
Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
